NEVER QUIT NEVER EVENT:
Erik Petroni and his family had a dream: to educate the community on how to avoid Brain Bleeds, Stroke and Heart Disease through healthy life choices and to encourage a “Never Quit” attitude toward living life to its fullest. What led them to this? Their own father, who was outwardly the picture of health, suffered--and battled back from--a major brain bleed. When asked if he could say one thing about this experience it was “Never quit—never”.
Although Captain Petroni passed away in 2009, the vision for the Never Quit Beach Fest was born. This annual celebration is a full day of fun and challenging events for the whole family. A large volunteer staff of nurses were on hand to provide free blood pressure and simple health checks throughout the day--looking for those warning signs that can, like Captain Pertroni's, go undetected.
Having worked with Erik on a previous custom project we were happy to partner with him to make an award that would be truly special. Together we created the Never Quit Living Life Sea Turtle pendant. Cast in sterling silver with hard fired enamel on the shell, white sapphire eye and special inscription, this pendant was given to every woman who crossed the finish line.
